Description

Whitney Plantation invites you to attend our 11th Annual Ancestral Blessing Ceremony on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Held annually during Black History Month, the event honors the lives and legacies of the enslaved people who lived and labored on this land. Through prayer, libation, drumming, and guided movement across the site, participants gather in collective remembrance and reflection.

The ceremony will be led by Sister Sula and the Congo Square Preservation Society. Together, they guide participants through a series of significant locations across Whitney Plantation, creating space for reverence, healing, and connection to history.

The ceremony is free and open to the public. Guided and self-guided tours of Whitney Plantation are available for an additional fee.
